Character Name: Veronica Marie Pym
Codename: Ladybug
Character Journal:
pixieavenger
Physical Description: 5'0" 126 lbs, red hair, brown eyes. Super stylish.
Age: 21
DOB: April 21st
PB: Holland Roden
Character Location/Home: New York, New York
Alignment: Avengers
Relatives: Hank Pym (father), Janet Van Dyne (mother)
Abilities: Due to both of her parents exposure to Pym Particles, Veronica is able to both grow and shrink in size, though she prefers to reduce her size rather than add on to it, as it is very painful for her to do so and causes great strain. When she reaches sizes of three inches or less, Veronica develops wings that allow for flight. When she is at this size, Veronica is able to produce concussive energy blast that she refers to her as her "stingers".
While not a genius on the level of her father, Veronica is highly intelligent. But her father is definitely smarter.
She has also had some combat training, but is no means on the same level as those that are more skilled in it.
She is also a skilled fashion designer, thank you very much.
Weaknesses and Flaws: Growing hurts a lot, as she rarely does it. She's squishy and human. She's a bit of spoiled brat sometimes, too.
Personality: At first glance, Veronica is an energetic, bubbly, very perky young woman. And she is all of those things. Veronica is the type of girl who loves to have fun. She loves going out with her friends, and having a good time. She loves trying new things and taking risks, and is the type of person who will try anything almost once. She likes living life to the fullest, and believes in taking chances. Veronica is an optimistic person, and tends to look on the brighter side of things.
Veronica is a very creative person. Growing up around her mother's designs and fashion shows, Veronica is a budding fashion designer herself. She loves designing and creating new clothes, and likes trying out new styles and trends. Veronica has a good eye for detail, both in the fashion world, and likes thinking outside of the box. She always has a million ideas running around in her head, casing her to be a bit of a scatterbrain at times. Organization is hardly her strong suit, and she works best that way. Her studio is a mess, and people often wonder how she finds things in it, but as Veronica puts it, it's a "controlled chaos".
While her bubbly persona sometimes makes her come off as a bit air-headed, Veronica is rather intelligent. While not a genius on the same level of her father, Veronica is rather adept at science, even if she prefers to be out doing things over being cooped up in the lab. Science, however, is a tool for her to relieve stress. She loves solving complex chemical equations, as she finds them to be very relaxing when she's stressed out. Veronica also has a natural aptitude for business, and is very thrifty.
And while she's generally the perky one in her group of friends, Veronica does have her serious moments. She can be rather handy to have around in a crisis, as she's good at keeping a calm, level head. While she loves to have a good time and have fun, Veronica knows that life isn't always fun and games. She's good at not freaking out during times of crisis, even if she's screaming on the inside.
Backstory: Though they divorced, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne eventually rekindled their romance, resulting in Veronica's conception. Though the two did not remarry, they shared joint custody of their daughter, and Veronica had a fairly happy childhood. Though she didn't mind spending time in Daddy's lab with him, she loved attending Mommy's fashion shows and watching her work when she was a little girl, and decided that she would become a designer in her own right when she became older. Hank has the bedazzled lab coats to prove it.
When Veronica was eight, she first discovered her size-changing abilities. During an incident at school, where a bully was picking on her, Veronica got angry, and started growing at a rapid rate. When she hit the ceiling, Veronica panicked, and started shrinking just as rapidly, to the point where she was mere inches tall in height...and had somehow developed wings. The school called in Hank and Jan, who were able to talk their daughter back to her normal size. After that, Hank and Jan began to teach Veronica how to use her powers.
Veronica joined the Avengers part-time when she was sixteen. She took a break from full-time status when she graduated high school, to start working for her mother's company as a growing fashion designer in her own right, as she's always wanted to follow in her mom's stylish footsteps.
Now, Veronica's graduated from NYU with a degree in fashion design and business management, and is looking to start her own fashion label.
